Our hotel will be the deluxe Firmdale Covent Garden Hotel in the heart of London’s West End and we will, as always, enjoy excellent cuisine and wine at some of the city’s finest restaurants.

Itinerary

Saturday, December 22

Departures from your country of residence (for overnight flights).

Sunday, December 23

Upon arrival at Heathrow or Gatwick, you are met and transferred to the Firmdale Covent Garden Hotel. We meet this evening for a Cocktail Reception in the Hotel’s Drawing Room (floor above the main floor).

Monday, December 24

Following breakfast (included each day) we meet for a guided highlights tour of London (by coach). This afternoon we take our seats at the Royal Albert Hall for a concert (TBA; 2:30PM curtain). A very special Christmas Eve Dinner is included at Simpson’s-in-the-Strand, a London favourite since 1828.

Tuesday, December 25

Enjoy the morning at leisure to celebrate in your own fashion. This afternoon we attend Evensong at Westminster Abbey and then Christmas Dinner in the hotel’s Brasserie Max.

Wednesday, December 26

This morning we tour Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. Late afternoon we depart for a spectacular Afternoon Tea at the Ritz. This evening we include a performance (TBA).

Thursday, December 27

Meet in the lobby and make the short walk to the National Gallery for a highlights tour. This evening we see The Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House (7:00 PM curtain). Dinner is included pre-curtain; coffee and dessert during the first interval at the Opera House’s Balconies Restaurant.

Friday, December 28

Today we tour the Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms. Dinner this evening is included at Mon Plaisir prior to a concert (TBA).

Saturday, December 29

Enjoy the day at leisure. This evening we meet for dinner at Savini (5pm) before attending a concert at St Martin-in-the-Fields (7:30 PM start).

Sunday, December 30

This morning is at leisure before a theatrical performance (TBA; 1:30pm) at the Barbican Theatre. This evening, we enjoy dinner at Bocca di Lupo.

Monday, December 31

Following a morning and lunch at leisure, we depart for the nearby Courtauld Gallery in Somerset House, on the Strand. It houses the art collection of the Courtauld Institute of Art, a self-governing college of the University of London specialising in the study of the history of art. The Courtauld collection was formed largely through donations and bequests and includes paintings, drawings, sculptures and other works from medieval to modern times; it is particularly known for its French Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings. This evening we ring in the New Year with an unforgettable dinner at the Savoy Grill.

Tuesday, January 1

After a leisurely morning, we tour to Hampton Court, where we explore the state apartments. Tonight we say goodbye at our New Year’s Day Farewell Dinner at The Ivy.

Wednesday, January 2

Transfers are included to Heathrow or Gatwick for homeward flights, and will be arranged on-site.
